Advert details: Mountain bike aficionados will be aware that you don't see too many of these come up for sale. The reason is that Klein only produced them for one year - 1989, when they were forced to change the name because Paramount Pictures held the trademark. After that the bike was known as the Rascal, and the sweet red white and blue fade paint job would be seen no more. I've had my Top Gun for 18 years, now. It was my only bike for the first 4 of that, so I rode it often. Then I got a Klein Attitude, so I rode that all the time and the Top Gun became my Wife's bike, so it was rarely touched. Now I have 5 bikes in my garage, but mostly ride my Intense 6.6. It's a small frame - I always get the smallest I can find to maximize clearance for me boys. I don't remember what Klein spec'd it as, seems like 16 or 17, but the distance from the center of the BB up the seat tube to the center of the top tube is 13". I would call her condition good to very good - especially considering she's 18 years old. The only issue I ever had is that the seat tube developed a hairline crack at the bottom of the take up notch. This happened in about 1992. At that time I got the longest seat post I could find and drilled holes at the ends of the crack to check it's propagation and then double clamped the seat post - one clamp high and one clamp low. I have ridden it ever since without issue. The distance from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat = 28"; distance from the center of the seat tube to the center of the head tube = 21". Components are as follows: Profile shorty bar ends Hussefelt riser bars Pedros Slimwall grips Marzocchi Bomber front shock Shimano XT components (front V-brake, rear canti) Kenda Krisp hardpack tires Bontrager saddle Syncros seatpost Blue anodized Quick-release skewers for both wheels and seat.
